Summary: Vallum Associates is seeking a Lead DCS Commissioning Engineer for a commissioning team at an Energy From Waste Plant in England. The role requires expertise in Valmet DCS systems and distributed control systems, with a focus on ensuring the functionality of control systems from field devices to operator screens. The engineer will collaborate with the lead I&C commissioning engineer and manage commissioning progress in accordance with project requirements. Experience in commissioning EFW, Biomass, or conventional power plants is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the lead I&C commissioning engineer to ensure control system functionality.
- Maintain commissioning progress in line with project requirements.

Key Skills:

Lead DCS Commissioning Engineer Expectation/Requirements
Candidate should be experienced in the Valmet DCS (DNA and DNAe) which is installed at site, so they understand its construction and operation. Candidate should be experienced in distributed control systems and the associated networks, remote I/O and Vendor package interfaces. The lead DCS commissioning engineer will work closely with the lead I&C commissioning engineer to ensure all aspects of the control system from the field device to the operator screens are functional and operate as described in the functional descriptions. They will be able to maintain commissioning progress in line with project requirements and attend meetings to offer technical support with both on site teams and Vendors Experience in commissioning on EFW, Biomass or conventional power plants is desirable.

Contract: January 2026 - April 2027
Schedule: 5 days a week 10 hours a day, During Hot commissioning 10 days on 4 days off.
Outside IR35 - All in Daily Rate
