Summary: The Lead Database Administrator will be responsible for planning and managing the capacity of database management systems, scheduling database patching, and strategizing backup and disaster recovery processes. This role requires troubleshooting database issues and implementing corrective measures while maintaining detailed technical documentation. The position involves working with various database technologies and contributing to the overall database strategy and architecture to ensure data integrity and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database support and management, particularly with SQL Server and other database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage capacity of database management systems
- Schedule database patching for production and lower environments
- Plan and strategize backup and disaster recovery processes

Key Skills:
- Knowledge of IT concepts such as database design, layout, structures, stored procedures, tables, optimization, TCP/IP, and IT security practices
- Expertise in SQL Server with understanding of Oracle and knowledge of Informix, DB2, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and other databases
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to analyze and write business and technical specifications
- Degree in information technology/computer information systems or related field
- 6+ years of experience in database support and management
- Clear understanding of IT Operations, Software Development, and Release Management using GitHub
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with GitHub, ServiceNow, Jira, MS Office, SQL, etc.
