Summary: The Lead Reporting and Data Analyst role within Local Government focuses on overseeing statutory reporting for Children's Social Care in the West Midlands. The position involves managing a team of Data Analysts, ensuring data accuracy, and developing reporting solutions to enhance decision-making. The role requires strong technical leadership in data warehousing and reporting tools, particularly Power BI and SQL. This is a hybrid position, requiring one day per week on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and maintenance of statutory and operational reporting for Children's Social Care
  • Manage and mentor a team of three Data Analysts, ensuring high-quality data outputs
  • Provide technical leadership in data warehousing, SQL Scripting, and reporting
  • Develop Power BI dashboards and SSRS reports to support operational decision-making
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with GDPR and other regulations
  • Work closely with Children's Services, Business Systems Analysts (Mosaic), and other departments to align reporting with service needs
  • Champion the use of agile methodologies within the team to improve efficiency

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in statutory reporting for Children's Social Care
  • Strong knowledge of data warehouse architecture and SQL Scripting
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI dashboards and SSRS reporting
  • Familiarity with Children's Social Care case management systems (ideally Mosaic)
  • Previous experience managing a team of Data Analysts or similar roles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to lead on BI and reporting solutions to drive service improvement
