Summary: The Lead Cost Analyst role at SSE involves managing a team of Cost Analysts while collaborating closely with Project Managers to ensure financial success and adherence to regulatory guidelines. The position requires strong leadership skills, a background in cost analysis, and the ability to drive process improvements. This is a 15-month fixed-term contract with flexible working options available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and grow the skills of the Cost Analysts through performance management.
- Ensure adherence to procedures and identify improvements in the operational job closure process.
- Collaborate with Delivery Project Managers to investigate financial anomalies and overspend reasons.
- Monitor financial performance of a programme of Connections work and manage project budgets.
- Establish project controls and reporting to support successful project delivery.
Key Skills:
- Experience as a cost analyst with knowledge of Distribution Network Operator (DNO) operations.
- Understanding of project governance and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of PROMIS and Harmony is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in team management is beneficial but not essential.
