Summary: The Lead Commissioning Engineer for Mechanical Pumps & Valves will oversee mechanical commissioning activities at the Sellafield Nuclear site, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols. This role involves leading a team, managing testing activities, and liaising with regulatory representatives. The position emphasizes safety and continuous improvement within the commissioning process. The project is expected to last until May 2026, with hybrid working arrangements available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety is the highest priority on the project, striving towards Zero Harm.
- Lead a team of Commissioning Engineers and Technicians.
- Oversee all testing activities throughout all stages of commissioning.
- Supervise the production of commissioning test documentation.
- Organize and supervise Commissioning Technicians and support resources.
- Manage the initiation and implementation of FOBs and TQs.
- Liaise with regulatory compliance representatives to expedite witnessing of commissioning activities.
- Record and manage Temporary Commissioning Aids and supporting data in accordance with test requirements.
- Utilize completions management systems to manage commissioning activities and handovers.
- Schedule work and manage against project timelines.
- Participate in multi-discipline design reviews and collaborate with the engineering team.
- Drive continuous improvement within the commissioning process and progress to meet schedule deadlines.
Key Skills:
- Time served or equivalent in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical.
- HNC or equivalent qualification or route to achieve it.
- Project commissioning experience.
- Experience with process commissioning, vessels, and pumps.
- Ability to achieve security clearance requirements.
