Summary: The Lead C&I Commissioning Engineer role at Rubicon Consulting involves leading site commissioning activities for a hydrogen generation project within the Asset Management function. The position requires expertise in control and instrumentation commissioning, focusing on supporting various sectors including Nuclear & Defence, Process & Energy, Power Generation, and Oil & Gas. The successful candidate will prepare and review commissioning procedures, conduct tests, and manage vendor activities to ensure compliance with project specifications. This is a 6-month contract based in Fife, Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare internal and review vendor C&I commissioning and test procedures.
  • Read & interpret applicable technical information, including drawings, schematics, P&IDs, procedures, manuals, codes, and specifications.
  • Support as required Site Acceptance Tests.
  • Conduct detailed equipment, subsystem, Mechanical Completion walk-downs.
  • Carry out commissioning and testing activities in line with written commissioning procedures.
  • Ensure all commissioning dossiers are maintained with up-to-date check sheets and commissioning records.
  • Identify, record, and rectify faults.
  • Manage and witness vendor activities.

Key Skills:

  • HNC in Control and Instrumentation Engineering or significant relevant experience in control and instrumentation commissioning.
  • In-depth knowledge of instrumentation installation checks, calibration, loop checking, controls tuning, and communication protocols.
  • Experience with pressure, temperature, level and flow transmitters, gas & heat detection systems, analysers, and metering systems.
  • Familiarity with vendor packages such as air compressors and emergency diesel generators, HVAC, CCTV, and PIDS.
  • Experience with PLC systems (SCADA, ICSS, SIS, ESD) and PAGA.
  • CompEx (Ex01-Ex04) certification is an advantage.
  • Functional safety and proof testing experience.
