Summary: The Lead Azure Engineer will be responsible for designing and delivering complex, multi-technology solutions while enhancing AI Accelerators to automate processes. This role requires technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring of junior engineers to ensure high-quality engineering practices. The position is based in Telford, requiring two days per week onsite, and is for a duration of six months. The role also involves compliance with engineering best practices and influencing business outcomes through innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, describe, and oversee large-scale, multi-technology solutions for projects.
- Ensure compliance with engineering best practices and security standards.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers to develop technical and professional skills.
- Actively contribute to the programme leadership team.
- Interface with senior stakeholders across business.
- Act as a trusted advisor, influencing technical direction and business outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and contribute to planning activities.
- Drive initiatives that enhance reputation and client relationships.
Key Skills:
- Expertise in designing complex solutions across multiple technologies (eg, Microsoft stack, Java, cloud platforms).
- Experience of Relational Databases (eg Ingres, Oracle, Azure SQL).
- Strong understanding of architectural principles, security, and integration patterns.
- Ability to set technical strategy and guide teams through delivery challenges.
- Proven track record in leading engineering teams within large-scale delivery programs.
- Experience in government environments is advantageous.
- Industry certifications (eg, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Professional) are desirable.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
