The position is based in Telford, requiring two days per week onsite, and is for a duration of six months. The role also involves compliance with engineering best practices and influencing business outcomes through innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, describe, and oversee large-scale, multi-technology solutions for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering best practices and security standards.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers to develop technical and professional skills.
  • Actively contribute to the programme leadership team.
  • Interface with senior stakeholders across business.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, influencing technical direction and business outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and contribute to planning activities.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance reputation and client relationships.

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in designing complex solutions across multiple technologies (eg, Microsoft stack, Java, cloud platforms).
  • Experience of Relational Databases (eg Ingres, Oracle, Azure SQL).
  • Strong understanding of architectural principles, security, and integration patterns.
  • Ability to set technical strategy and guide teams through delivery challenges.
  • Proven track record in leading engineering teams within large-scale delivery programs.
  • Experience in government environments is advantageous.
  • Industry certifications (eg, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Professional) are desirable.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
