Summary: The Laptop Build Engineer will be an integral part of the end-user computing team, focusing on the building, configuring, and deploying of laptops at scale. This role emphasizes ensuring a smooth delivery and user experience across the organization. The engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining device builds to meet corporate standards. Collaboration with various teams is essential for resolving escalations and supporting large-scale rollouts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, configure, and deploy laptops using standardised images and build processes
- Support Windows 10/11 deployment, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Manage and maintain device builds through tools such as Intune, Autopilot, SCCM/MECM, or similar
- Ensure all devices comply with security, patching, and corporate build standards
- Troubleshoot build failures, hardware issues, driver problems, and software installations
- Work closely with Service Desk and Infrastructure teams to resolve escalations
- Maintain accurate asset and deployment documentation
- Provide hands-on support during large-scale device rollouts or refresh programmes
Key Skills:
- Experience in laptop building and configuration
- Proficiency in Windows 10/11 deployment and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Intune, Autopilot, SCCM/MECM
- Strong understanding of security and patching standards
- Problem-solving skills for hardware and software issues
- Ability to work collaboratively with various teams
