Summary: The LAN/WAN Administrator role involves the installation, maintenance, configuration, and administration of network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls. The position requires diagnosing and resolving issues for various systems within the Department of Public Safety and managing telecommunication circuit changes. Additionally, the role includes documentation management and monitoring enterprise security systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, configure, upgrade and administer network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, et al.)
- Wipe configuration of end-of-life network equipment and prepare for salvage
- Administer agency telecommunication circuit moves, adds and changes
- Diagnose, analyze and resolve issues for Department of Public Safety (DPS), Automated Title Processing System (ATPS), Deputy Registrar (DR)
- Create, organize, file and maintain documentation
- Review and monitor enterprise security systems; take appropriate action and respond to alarms/alerts per policy and procedure
- Work with vendors to resolve information system user issues related to DPS networks, systems or applications.
