Summary: The Laboratory Automation Specialist will play a crucial role in the agricultural sector by developing and troubleshooting automated workflows using the Tecan Evo liquid handler. This position involves collaboration with scientists to enhance laboratory processes and contribute to the advancement of innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, test, and troubleshoot workflows on the Tecan Evo liquid handler.
  • Collaborate with scientists to transform manual processes into automated workflows.
  • Maintain and resolve issues on the liquid handler, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Provide support and training to scientists for running and modifying their workflows.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for automation processes.
  • Contribute to the selection of new automation equipment to enhance lab capabilities.
  • Help our client advance towards the lab of the future with innovative solutions!

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar automation role within a lab environment.
  • Proficiency in writing and troubleshooting workflows on liquid handlers, preferably the Tecan Evo.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with scientists to streamline processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, highly organised, and capable of managing multiple projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in multi-functional teams.
  • MSc (or equivalent experience) in a science or engineering discipline.
  • Experience with liquid handling robots.
  • Familiarity with integrating and automating lab equipment.
  • Coding experience in Python, C++, C#, R, or SQL.
  • Knowledge of IoT devices, microcontrollers, or device integration.
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) and image analysis.
