Summary: This role is a 6-month fixed-term position for a Laboratory Assistant in an Agricultural Crop Testing Facility, starting in July. The position involves supporting the Seed Analyst in Charge with laboratory operations, including processing samples of commercial cereal crops and coordinating a sampling team during the busy harvest period. The candidate will be responsible for running various tests, maintaining accurate data records, and assisting farmer customers with crop quality assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Seed Analyst in Charge with daily laboratory operations and crop testing.
• Coordinate the summer sampling team to collect crop samples from farms.
• Run tests on grain and seed samples, including moisture, weight, and germination.
• Input results data into the Microsoft Dynamics database accurately.
• Conduct 'Moisture Clinics' to help farmers understand crop quality.
• Monitor sampling job lists and address queries from farmers and colleagues.
• Cover the Intake Process for seed crops and cereals as needed.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and perform daily equipment checks.
• Assist with off-site sample collection as the season winds down.

Key Skills:

• Experience or interest in laboratory work and agricultural sciences.
• UK Drivers License.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Familiarity with Microsoft products, especially Outlook and Excel.
• Experience with database entry, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
