Summary: The Lab Aide position in San Diego, CA, is a contract role focused on supporting daily operations within Research & Development laboratories. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare routine laboratory buffers and solutions; manage inventory and restock supplies.
- Conduct daily laboratory walk-throughs and safety checks.
- Manage hazardous waste storage and disposal according to safety protocols.
- Communicate facility maintenance needs to lab supervisors.
- Ensure lab safety compliance in accordance with standard codes and practices.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in labs, gowning areas, hallways, and storage rooms.
- Support procurement of lab supplies and equipment.
- Perform clerical support tasks as needed.
Key Skills:
- Basic laboratory or manufacturing experience (0–2 years preferred).
- Familiarity with SOPs, ECOs, travelers, and GMP practices.
- Understanding of cleanroom protocols (ISO 6/7 environment) and ability to gown appropriately.
- Demonstrated ability to follow established protocols and standard procedures.
- Basic proficiency in chemistry, mathematics, and analytical techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and principles is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0–2 years of related laboratory or manufacturing experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Environment: Work is performed primarily in laboratory settings. Exposure to chemicals, airborne particles, and moderate noise is expected. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- Physical: Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs. Frequent standing, sitting, bending, and use of hands for lab and office equipment.
- Vision: Normal visual acuity with or without correction. Ability to work under yellow lighting conditions due to photosensitive materials.
- PPE: Extended use of full cleanroom gowning (bunny suits) in ISO-classified environments.
