Summary: This role is for a KYC Onboarding Specialist at an Investment Bank in London, focusing on the onboarding process of new clients and periodic reviews of existing clients across various risk categories. The position involves liaising with business units and vetting teams to ensure compliance and timely onboarding. The specialist will serve as a point of contact for KYC and KYB queries, facilitating the business's ability to concentrate on deal origination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct KYC due diligence on all new Low / Medium and High-risk London Banking clients.
  • Conduct risk assessments of clients and investigate using the head office KYC tools on the intranet.
  • Establish the documentation required based on the type of client and ensure that the documentation is gathered and submitted either in the system or sent directly to vetting.
  • Liaise with the legal and/or agents on new deals to ensure relevant or updated documentation is received and submitted.
  • Liaise with the business to ensure that the correct grouping has been established according to the structure chart.
  • Create a file for each client to save documentation for future reviews.
  • Ensure a smooth process to obtain approval for Low and Medium and High-risk clients.
  • Liaise with the vetting teams in London and in other European locations on the vetting process of high-risk clients and approval.
  • All new KYB forms to be completed with the assistance of the front office team and the credit approval.
  • Ensure that all approved products required are added in the KYC Client Pass system and entered under the various geographies for the business / client to use.
  • Liaise with Front office to obtain access to Debt domain sites in order to liaise with Client / agent / lawyers to obtain relevant KYC documents which are not available in the public domain and make sure the client file reviews are done in a timely manner.
  • Make sure all clients are MiFID approved in line with the internal standards and requirements.
  • Support IB / DCM / SET / Sectors London Branch on all KYC and KYB related issues.
  • Develop strong relationships with Front Office business and the vetting departments in London and with our teams in other locations.
  • Manage the customer KYC document collection for onboarding ensuring that it is provided to the vetting departments at time of vetting – also when system allows, to be uploaded into the document file.
  • Establish a separate KYC filing for front office clients which will be updated at each review and on an adhoc basis when advised by agent / client of any amendments to KYC documentation, i.e. new director / borrower.
  • The team has two apprentices working in London supporting the team.
  • PREMS – CPN1 month end controls for expired or unauthorised rafs.
  • All KYC and KYB for front office Investment Banking / DCM, Coverage and SECM Teams in London.

Key Skills:

  • Ability to quickly gather the documentation required to input file to ClientPass.
  • Liaise with relevant teams to ensure that the entities are never in Breach and the business is able to continue business with them.
  • Good autonomy with the systems, mainly ClientPass and the processes related to the KYC and KYB.
  • A high level of resourcefulness and ability to problem solve. Must have experience of the KYC Business Area.
  • Good understanding of current regulations.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.
  • Good communication skills to work within Front Office and liaise with clients.

This opportunity is working for an Investment Bank in the City of London as a KYC Onboarding Specialist processing of the front office of new clients, as well as periodic review of existing clients relating to low, medium & high risk within London Banking customers (Coverage, IB Sectors, DCM & SECM and any other departments time and capacity allowing).

You will be liaising with the business on KYB forms and dealing directly with Vetting in various geographies to ensure that the clients are onboarded with minimal delay for the business.

You will be responsible and accountable for the being a point of contact for all KYC and KYB queries in order to free up the business to concentrate on origination of deals.
