Summary: The KYC Analyst role involves acting as the first line of defense against financial crime and sanctions risks during the onboarding of new clients and conducting periodic due diligence on existing clients. The position requires ensuring the accuracy and consistency of client information in KYC systems and escalating any risks to the second line for guidance. The analyst will also participate in training new staff and assist Front Office teams with KYC-related tasks. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process client KYC files for onboarding and periodic reviews.
  • Investigate and document client ownership structures and ultimate beneficial owners.
  • Classify and monitor negative news articles related to clients.
  • Check and escalate sanctions-related exposures and client business profiles.
  • Review risk calculations and liaise with Relationship Managers on KYC documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to AML/CTF standards and internal policies during client onboarding.
  • Participate in training new team members on systems and procedures.
  • Assist in the remediation of files identified by Compliance Monitoring reviews.
  • Attend meetings with Front Office teams to provide KYC guidance.

Key Skills:

  • Good understanding of the regulatory framework for Financial Crime, Sanctions, and AML.
  • Previous experience in a CDD team within a financial institution.
  • Desirable qualifications in AML and Customer Due Diligence (e.g., ICA Certificates, ACAMS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team.
