Summary: The KYC Analyst role at Bloomberg involves onboarding and maintaining corporate clients while ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulatory requirements. This position is part of a dynamic KYC team within the Legal and Compliance Department, focusing on customer due diligence and anti-money laundering processes. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of complex legal structures and compliance standards. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Onboard new clients in an efficient and timely manner.
- Conduct end-to-end periodic and event-driven reviews.
- Analyse corporate structures and validate documentation to ensure compliance with internal procedures.
- Accurately risk assess new and existing clients, resolving appropriate issues where required.
- Perform Politically Exposed Person (PEP), Sanction and Adverse Media screening and analyse the results.
- Identify potential AML concerns to appropriate senior management during the KYC review process.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases clearly and concisely with well-supported risk rationale.
- Ensure KYC reviews meet defined quality standards, demonstrating high levels of accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Demonstrate a “right-first-time” approach while balancing productivity expectations.
- Manage multiple expectations of business partners and front office sales teams.
- Engage directly with regional and global clients, responding to client enquiries and supporting client calls.
- Perform client static data updates within the internal systems and ensure validation of collected documents.
- Contribute to the establishment and continuous improvement of KYC processes, procedures, and controls.
- Act as a subject-matter contributor, sharing best practices and helping shape consistent standards across the team.
- Identify process gaps, quality issues, or operational risks and proactively propose solutions.
- Develop and conduct training for sales and team members as necessary.
Key Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in KYC with a major financial institution.
- Knowledge of standard KYC requirements within the financial services sector.
- Experience of analysing complex company legal structures.
- Knowledge of standard AML requirements including JMLSG and UK Money Laundering Regulations.
- Experience with PEPs, Sanctions and Adverse Media screening.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality KYC reviews.

The Role Based in London, this is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and thriving Know Your Customer (KYC) team, on a 12-month Fixed term contract, and work closely with the company’s Anti-money Laundering (AML) and Compliance group. The KYC Analyst will be focused on the on-boarding and maintenance of corporate/professional clients for Bloomberg Businesses. The role involves having a deep understanding of the end-to-end customer due diligence process using risk-based approach and being well versed with legal entity types across different jurisdictions. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong competent knowledge of current UK and EU regulatory requirements and relevant financial industry know-how concerning the Customer Due Diligence and AML standards.
