Knowledge Graph Architect - Inside IR35 - Up to £900 per day

Summary: The Knowledge Graph Architect role involves supporting a major banking client's AI and data transformation program by designing and governing the enterprise knowledge graph. The position emphasizes technical architecture, including ontology design, graph data modeling, and Neo4j implementation patterns. The architect will also focus on ensuring performance, scalability, and integration with enterprise data architecture. This is a contract position classified as inside IR35, based in Central London with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design enterprise knowledge graph architecture (ontology, taxonomy, nodes, relationships, properties).
• Define Neo4j graph schemas and modeling standards for scalable implementation.
• Build Graph RAG retrieval patterns for LLM/AI agent optimization.
• Design canonical graph data models and enforce consistency between structured and AI-inferred data.
• Develop APIs and graph data access patterns for AI systems, analytics, and applications.
• Define graph governance, versioning, and modeling standards across platforms.
• Ensure performance, scalability, security, and integration with enterprise data architecture.
• Support metadata, lineage, and data quality integration within graph structures.
• Enable graph-based AI capabilities across search, reasoning, and knowledge systems.

Key Skills:

• Strong Neo4j and graph database architecture experience.
• Deep expertise in ontology engineering and semantic modeling.
• Experience building Graph RAG systems for LLM/AI applications.
• Strong data modeling and canonical data architecture background.
• API design and data integration experience in enterprise environments.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and regulated systems.
• Desirable: Financial Services or banking experience.
• Experience with Generative AI or agentic AI systems.
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with metadata, lineage, or MDM concepts.
• Experience in large-scale AI/data transformation programs.

Salary (Rate): £900 daily
