Company Description
Established in 1993, Select Interiors is a premier family-run business based in Wimborne, Dorset, specialising in bespoke fitted furniture and comprehensive home transformations.
Unlike standard showrooms, we design, manufacture, and install every piece ourselves from our purpose-built factory at Three Legged Cross.
Serving homeowners across Dorset, Hampshire, and Wiltshire, we provide custom solutions for kitchens, bedrooms, media walls, home offices, bathrooms, and full home renovations.
With a dedicated in-house team managing everything from initial design to complete project coordination (including electrics, plumbing, and tiling), we take pride in delivering exceptional craftsmanship, personalized service, and uncompromising quality.
Role Overveiw
We are currently experiencing a busy period and are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Kitchen CAD Designer & Estimator to support our design team on a temporary basis.
In this role, you will focus purely on turning design concepts and site survey measurements into accurate 2D/3D CAD drawings and preparing precise client quotes.
Please note: This role does not require site visits or surveys—all measurements and initial client briefs will be provided to you.
Key Responsabilities
- CAD Planning & Design: Produce detailed 2D layouts and high-quality 3D visualisations for bespoke kitchens based on survey data and design briefs provided by the team.
- Pricing & Estimating: Calculate accurate project costs, generate client quotes, and build detailed bills of materials for manufacture using our internal pricing structures.
- Technical Accuracy: Ensure custom cabinetry dimensions and specifications are accurate down to the millimetre, taking into account factory production capabilities and client preferences.
- Team Collaboration: Liaise with our in-house sales and production teams to clarify technical details and ensure smooth transitions from initial design to production.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven track record in kitchen design, CAD planning, and technical estimating/pricing within the kitchen or fitted furniture industry.
- CAD Proficiency: Experience with industry-standard kitchen design software (e.g., Winner, ArtiCAD, Fusion 2020, AutoDesk, or similar).
- Attention to Detail: Excellent spatial awareness and precision with measurements—critical for custom, made-to-measure cabinetry.
- Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of kitchen layout ergonomics, cabinetry construction, hardware options, worktops, and appliances.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work efficiently to deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
