Summary: The Junior Research Fellow in Respiratory Medicine at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is a fixed-term position focused on supporting clinical research in Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). The role involves providing medical support for research projects, collaborating with study teams, and contributing to the training of medical staff. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical research support to respiratory research projects focusing on ILD.
- Responsible for specific study-related medical support and consultation with Principal Investigators.
- Provide medical cover for studies and support the development of a clinical cohort.
- Collaborate with study teams on study protocols and related documentation.
- Oversee the administration of study drugs to healthy volunteers/patients as per standard procedures.
- Assist in training and development of medical and nursing staff through seminars and lectures.
- Deliver a program of respiratory translational research and pursue personal research for a higher degree.
- Maintain regulatory documents, recruit subjects, and acquire samples from patient volunteers.
Key Skills:
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- Experience in the field of Respiratory medicine.
- Ability to work effectively in multi-professional teams.
- Participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
