Key Responsibilities:
- Complete the replacement of 50 end-of-life network switches in client EMEA colo sites.
- Preconfigure devices in the lab and work with remote hands to rack devices.
- Raise changes to communicate with stakeholders and obtain approval for migration.
- Migrate connections from old to new devices during agreed weekends.
- Coordinate the decommissioning, un-racking, and disposal of old equipment.
- Keep track of progress in a centralized tracking sheet.
- Maintain a positive attitude and strong communication throughout the project.
Key Skills:
- Professional-level working knowledge of networks (TCP/IP, BGP routing, PIM routing, STP, route maps, access lists).
- Practical hands-on experience with network routers and switches.
- Experience with Arista and Cisco switches.
- Experience in the financial sector is a plus.
- Experience managing projects end-to-end is a plus.
- Working-level knowledge of Ansible and other tooling.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.

Role Description:
"the requirements/skills:
Provide a network engineer to complete the replacement of 50 end of life network Switches in client EMEA colo sites.
o Candidate should be located in the 1CP office so they are in close proximity to stakeholders whose applications run on these EOL Switches along with the Specialised Infra EMEA Lead (Adam Coulter).
o Preconfigure devices in the lab
o Work with remote hands to rack devices
o Raise changes to communicate w stakeholders and obtain approval for the migration in an agreed window
o Migrate connections from old to new devices on agreed weekend with remote hands. Perform necessary checks and be ready for start of week checks on Sunday should any issues arise.
o Coordinate to decom, un-rack, and dispose of old kit
o Keep track of progress in our centralized tracking sheet.
o Candidate will possess a good attitude, work well with others, and an energetic approach to drive the project to completion, overcoming any obstacles in the way. Strong communication is important.
Skills/Experience
Possess professional-level working knowledge of networks (TCP/IP, BGP routing, PIM routing, STP, route maps, access lists). Must have practical hands-on experience working with network Routers and switches.
Have experience working with Arista and Cisco switches.
Experience in the financial sector a plus.
Experience managing such a project end-to-end a plus
Ideally have working-level knowledge of Ansible and other tooling to achieve objectives in an efficient manner.
Possess strong analytical and project management skills to be able to manage the end of life project and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
