Summary: This role is for a Junior HR Business Partner (HRBP) within a small HR team, focusing on enhancing the employee experience through various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and absence management. The position involves supporting the HR Business Partner in employee relations and facilitating HR training initiatives. The HRBP will also contribute to HR policy development and assist in HR projects aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and writing of HR policies in line with legislation and best practices.
- Support line managers in addressing HR-related issues.
- Provide HR advice and support to managers regarding terms and conditions of service.
- Facilitate HR-related training for line managers.
- Assist in managing and resolving employee relations cases.
- Coach and mentor line managers on people-related matters.
- Upskill and empower HR team members.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Provide various HR reports.
- Assist in HR projects and process improvements.
- Promote equality and diversity in all aspects of the role.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
Key Skills:
- Membership of the CIPD or equivalent relevant experience.
- General understanding of HR processes.
- Experience delivering generalist HR advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Able to work as part of a team and independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS, and HR-related software.
- Understanding of Data Protection (GDPR) principles.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Awareness of Health & Safety regulations.
- Knowledge of Job Evaluation (desirable).
- Experience in a local authority setting (desirable).
