Job Purpose We are on the lookout for a Junior Data Engineer to become an integral part of our Data Engineering Team. You will not only maintain and optimise our data infrastructure but also spearhead its evolution. Built predominantly on AWS, and utilising technologies like Pyspark and Iceberg, our infrastructure is designed for scalability, robustness, and efficiency. You will be part of developing sophisticated data integrations with various platforms, developing real-time data solutions, improving automation, and enabling crucial business intelligence.
Job Duties
- Build and Maintain Data Pipelines: Learn how to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using key AWS services like AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and AWS S3.
- Support Cloud Migration: Play a supporting role in migrating our existing SQL Server data warehouse to an AWS environment, specifically S3 and Redshift.
- Ensure Data Quality: Implement and run data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure our data is reliable.
- Work with Cutting-Edge Architectures: Get exposure to best-practice data lakehouse and data warehousing solutions.
- Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with data scientists and analysts, learning how to support the deployment of machine learning and advanced analytics solutions.
- Document and Troubleshoot: Learn how to document operational procedures and help investigate and resolve data quality issues.
- Grow Your Skills: Stay up-to-date with the latest data technologies and industry best practices through continuous learning and support.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Foundational Knowledge: A basic understanding cloud technologies would be useful, and any previous work with data would help set the context for this role.
