Summary: The Junior CAD Engineer role at MPG in Bridgnorth offers an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or apprentices with a passion for automotive design. Key Responsibilities:
- CAD Modelling & Technical Drawing: Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, Geomagic & Ruby 2D CAD.
- Interpret and translate technical requirements, sketches, and design specifications into accurate CAD models, assemblies & drawings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all design work and revisions including managing the Drawing Office area.
- Review and revise existing designs to improve performance, reduce costs, or accommodate new requirements.
- Support the prototyping, testing, sample approvals and manufacturing processes with technical drawings and model updates.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, engineering principles, and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians across the business including Production and Purchasing to develop and refine design concepts and current products.
Key Skills:
- Completed relevant level 3 or higher qualification / apprenticeship (Essential)
- Experience of using 3D design software, preferably SolidWorks (Essential)
- Experience of working within a busy manufacturing department (Desirable)
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Word Processing software (Essential)

Key Responsibilities
- CAD Modelling & Technical Drawing
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, Geomagic & Ruby 2D CAD.

- making efficient use of all the tools provided within the Design Department.
- Creating new drawing and drawing amendments with information provided, ensuring that revisions are in sequence and internal systems reflect the drawing revision or specifications.
- Prototyping, Testing & Manufacturing Support
- Support the prototyping, testing, sample approvals and manufacturing processes with technical drawings and model updates.
- Manage production through internal 3D printing
- Standards, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, engineering principles, and best practices.
- Participate in design reviews, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Cross Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians across the business including Production and Purchasing to develop and refine design concepts and current products.
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
