Summary: The Joinery Supervisor will oversee joinery-related activities on various residential, commercial, and education projects in Leeds and Bradford, with the potential to progress to a Site Manager role. This position requires hands-on supervision of joinery teams, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines. The role involves maintaining quality standards, health and safety regulations, and effective communication with senior management and other stakeholders. The company is a leading provider of construction services in the UK, focusing on expanding its building services division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report and communicate regularly to the Head of Joinery.
- Participate in site meetings and deliver regular progress reports.
- Promptly report any issues, delays, or scope changes to senior management.
- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day joinery operations across various sites.
- Assist in preparing handover documentation and as-built drawings if necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, labour hours, and material consumption.
- Carry out risk assessments and promote adherence to safe working practices throughout the site.
- Implement and uphold health and safety regulations across the site.
- Collaborate closely with Site Managers, Architects, and other trades to coordinate joinery operations.
- Track progress of joinery activities and proactively adjust work schedules.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of joiners, apprentices, and subcontractors.
- Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Deliver hands-on training, mentorship, and ongoing support to team members.
- Conduct thorough inspections of completed joinery work.
- Troubleshoot and resolve challenges involving craftsmanship, materials, or building methods.
- Guarantee that snagging and finishing operations are performed to established standards.
Key Skills:
- Proven industry expertise in supervising joinery works.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Joinery Supervisor position or similar.
- SSSTS and CSCS Card (desirable but not essential).
- Quality control skills.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Capacity to prioritise health and safety effectively.
- Strong knowledge of construction laws and regulations.
- Understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
- Wide understanding of joinery techniques, materials, tools, and methods.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Competent in maintaining accurate documentation.
