Summary: Carbon60 is looking for a Jig/Fixture Maintenance and Automation Engineer to enhance production processes at their client in Filton. This contract role involves evaluating, repairing, and maintaining assembly tooling, as well as supporting NC programming and maintenance specifications. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in tooling design and maintenance, along with strong problem-solving skills. This position requires both teamwork and independent work capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in workshops to assess, improve, and set up assembly tooling
- Evaluate and repair damaged tooling, and set up new tooling before use
- Provide timely intervention in cases of tooling failure or production issues
- Devise and implement the manufacturing and assembly tooling's periodic maintenance and inspection
- Attend, liaise, and act upon Practical Problem Solving issues with any bespoke tooling
- Support the validation and optimization of NC Programs
- Develop, test, and integrate NC Programs in the distribution system or on the machine
- Participate in the demonstration testing and analysis with Work Preparation, Quality, and Production
- Provide diagnostic feedback to the supervisor/maintenance engineers
- Support the creation of Technical Specifications for maintenance topics
- Participate proactively in Total Preventative Maintenance meetings
Key Skills:
- Possesses HNC or over 10 years of experience in Jig and Tool Design/Engineering/Production Maintenance
- Demonstrates practical skills and the ability to repair and maintain production bespoke tooling
- Has essential NC programming knowledge and awareness of tooling maintenance requirements
- Proficient in using CATIA V5 and familiar with Fanuc/Siemens NC systems
- Able to prepare tooling specifications and maintenance plans
- Experienced in dimensional metrology systems (CMM, Laser Tracker, Photogrammetry, Faro Arm, etc.)
- Skilled in Practical Problem Solving (PPS) and PFMEA knowledge
- Comfortable working in a team as well as independently
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

As the Jig/Fixture Maintenance and Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's production processes. This is a contract role with both PAYE and Umbrella rates available.
