Key Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer robust Java-based backend services and microservices within a distributed, event-driven architecture.
- Build and integrate scalable RESTful APIs that handle high-frequency user interactions across the healthcare ecosystem.
- Collaborate with Architects and Product Managers to define technical direction and implement best practices in software engineering.
- Drive code quality through automated testing, rigorous code reviews, and sophisticated CI/CD pipelines.
- Deploy and manage containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes within cloud-native environments (AWS/Azure).
Key Skills:
- Deep expertise in Java development (Java 8/11/17) and the Spring Boot framework for enterprise-grade applications.
- Strong background in building microservices and working with event-driven tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration using Kubernetes or Docker.
- Direct experience working on NHS digital programmes or large-scale public sector initiatives, ideally with knowledge of HL7 or FHIR standards.
- A solid understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder project environments.
