Summary: The role of Java Developer involves working within an Agile Scrum team to create innovative geospatial solutions utilizing modern cloud technologies. The position requires active SC clearance and entails responsibilities across the full software development lifecycle, including designing, developing, and testing scalable cloud-based applications. Candidates should have strong Java experience and familiarity with various cloud services and frameworks. The role is based in Guildford or Newcastle, with a hybrid working arrangement of 2-3 days onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable cloud-based applications.
- Write clean, maintainable code and ensure quality through testing and best practices.
- Contribute to code reviews and reusable solutions.
- Collaborate closely with the team in Agile ceremonies.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with Java.
- Experience in cloud services development.
- Solid understanding of unit testing frameworks and practices.
- DevSecOps awareness (e.g. Tekton, ArgoCD, SonarQube) (desirable).
- Experience with Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift (desirable).
- Familiarity with the Quarkus framework (desirable).
- Front-end development experience with Angular (desirable).
