Summary: The role of Java Developer requires candidates with current SC Security Clearance and expertise in Java software development, particularly with Java 11 and MongoDB.   • Lead citizen/agent-facing digital product teams or shared platform capability teams.
  • Design and develop modern, scalable systems or infrastructure.
  • Champion best practices in software engineering, DevOps, and cloud-native development.
  • Mentor engineers and build a strong culture of continuous improvement.
  • Align delivery with strategic goals and collaborate across teams and stakeholders.

Key Skills:

  • Strong hands-on Java software development skills to Java 11 or higher.
  • Excellent software engineering abilities across Java microservices, Hexagonal architecture, MongoDB, Kafka.
  • Modern cloud infrastructure & DevOps (AWS, Terraform, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Proven success leading engineering teams, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering best practices, including secure design and assurance.
  • Experience delivering in complex, multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Current SC Security Clearance or the ability to undergo clearance.

The role is inside IR35 circa £550-£650.00 per day DOE- Long term contract until March 2026 Hyrid workign with ad hoc days on site at either of the following Locations, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Blackpool, Cardiff, or London.
