Summary: This role is for an SC CLEARED Java Developer involved in a public-sector project focused on leveraging data for national benefit. The position requires expertise in building digital services and software applications within an agile DevOps environment. Candidates must possess strong technical skills in Java and related technologies, along with excellent stakeholder engagement abilities. Active SC clearance is mandatory, and prior experience in Defence is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build digital services and software applications.
- Design micro-services and develop solutions in an agile DevOps environment.
- Engage in consulting and stakeholder management.
- Participate in work-shopping, requirement gathering, and definition.
- Utilize software design skills including UML and Domain Driven Design.
- Implement DevOps practices using tools like Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD.
Key Skills:
- Experience with Java and Spring Framework.
- Proficiency in containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong software design skills.
- DevOps skills including Linux and CI/CD.
- Excellent consulting and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Appreciation for agile working methods and GDS standards.
- Full stack development knowledge is a strong advantage.
- Active SC clearance.
- Desirable: prior experience in Defence engagement.

Required Non-technical Skills:
- Excellent consulting / stakeholder engagement skills
- Appreciation for agile working methods and GDS standards
- Willingness to be part of the work-shopping / requirement gathering / definition side of the engagement
- Appreciation for full stack development a strong advantage
- ACTIVE SC clearance is required
- Desirable to have prior experience working in a Defence engagement.
