Summary: The Java Developer - IV will serve as a senior technologist and lead in the modernization of web applications for the State of Wisconsin's Department of Transportation. This role involves migrating applications to Spring Boot, upgrading Java versions, and implementing modern development practices including DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines. The candidate will also provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the modernization process. The position requires a strong background in Java and related technologies, with a focus on enhancing and modernizing existing applications.

- Solve complex technical problems
- Design, develop and provide technical leadership to the modernization effort
- Develop testing methodology and criteria and implement them on automated build processes
- Lead efforts for modernizing Java application(s) to Spring Boot following industry best practices
- Develop application presentation layers using modern JavaScript/TypeScript technologies such as Angular

- Candidates must be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. This position will work mostly remote from within the State of Wisconsin. There will be a requirement to come into the Hill farms office at least once every other week for one day (of the project team’s choosing) for sprint planning and work collaboration purposes. In the future if situation warrants, we expect the candidate to be flexible to accommodate the business needs as it relates to working from office.
