Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with architecture and application teams to analyse project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and develop Java-based microservices aligned to target architecture and engineering standards.
  • Support transformation of existing payments applications and solutions, aligning to elevated architecture and modern engineering practices.
  • Contribute to the operation and stability of payments solutions, including incident support and continuous improvement.
  • Follow internal DevOps principles and ways of working.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across technology and business teams to deliver outcomes at pace.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in JVM tuning and diagnostics for application troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
  • Experience in distributed system design, including microservices and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and service mesh.
  • Experience in monitoring and observability technologies (eg, AppDynamics, Splunk, Jaeger, Kiali, Open Telemetry).
  • Experience in cloud and DevOps, including familiarity with networking (VPC) and Firewall concepts, IAM, and cloud costing.
  • Expert-level SQL coding ability (preferred).
