The Role
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a 6-month contract supporting an AWS migration programme.
The primary focus of the project will be migrating services from a single AWS account to a multi-account AWS environment.
This is a hands-on development role, so we are looking for someone with strong Java coding skills who is comfortable writing, reviewing, testing and monitoring production-quality code.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial Java development experience
- Strong hands-on coding ability
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Good knowledge of AWS services and cloud environments
- Experience writing and maintaining unit tests
- Experience reviewing code and working within established development standards
- Experience monitoring applications and investigating logs
- Experience working with Grafana dashboards
- Comfortable troubleshooting application and service issues
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for:
- Designing and writing high-quality Java code
- Reviewing code produced by other developers
- Developing and maintaining unit tests
- Monitoring services and application performance
- Working with Grafana dashboards
- Reviewing logs and investigating issues
- Supporting the migration of services from a single AWS account to a multi-account AWS structure
- Working collaboratively with the wider engineering team throughout the migration
