Java Developer

Summary: The Java Developer role is a contract position based in London, UK, requiring expertise in AWT, Swing, JavaFX, and UI testing. The candidate will be responsible for developing desktop and client-server applications while collaborating closely with the Front Office to gather requirements and implement solutions. Strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement in software architecture and Agile methodologies are essential. Familiarity with additional technologies such as Spring Boot and AWS is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop desktop, client-server, and rich client applications using AWT, Swing, and JavaFX.
• Implement UI testing and strive for excellence in software architecture and build systems.
• Collaborate with the Front Office to gather requirements and design suitable solutions.
• Communicate ideas effectively both graphically and verbally.
• Create value for the business through LNG optimisation.

Key Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of Java (Java 17), IntelliJ/Eclipse, Maven, GIT, Jenkins, and RESTful Web Services.
• Experience with AWT, Swing, JavaFX, and UI testing.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with Spring Boot, JPA, Kerberos, AWS, Ansible, Docker, Openshift, BDD, and Cucumber is a plus.
