Summary: This role is for a hands-on Java engineer at a leading global tech organization, focusing on core backend coding, problem-solving, and effective communication. The position is a contract for an initial 3 months with a strong likelihood of extension. The engineer will work in a hybrid environment, primarily based in Manchester, requiring two days in the office each week. The role is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop core backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Engage in problem-solving and collaborative coding practices.
- Participate in cloud migration projects and utilize AWS/CDK.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Complete a live pair programming exercise during the interview process.
Key Skills:
- Strong Java and Spring Boot fundamentals.

Interview Process
You will complete a live pair programming exercise where you will:
- Write Java/Spring Boot code from scratch
- Clearly talk through your approach while solving problems
- Work collaboratively with another engineer
No AI tools allowed during the exercise.
