Summary: A leading global financial services organization is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to join its technology team in Glasgow. The role involves working on high-impact applications within the Middle Office space in a collaborative DevOps environment. The position requires proficiency in various technologies and a commitment to delivering scalable and secure applications. This is an on-site role with a focus on Agile delivery processes and continuous improvement in development practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure applications.
- Contribute across the full development lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, testing, and support.
- Apply architectural and design principles across systems and services.
- Take part in Agile delivery processes including sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups.
- Design and build responsive UI components with an appreciation for user experience.
- Implement and maintain automated test strategies including TDD with JUnit.
- Work across the full stack - from database and Back End services to the Front End interface.
- Drive continuous improvement in development practices, tools, and delivery processes.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, REST, JSON, and 12-Factor App methodology.
- Strong experience with RDBMS (preferably Microsoft SQL or Oracle).
- Messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
- Exposure to cloud-based platforms (internal or external).
- Experience working in a DevOps environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with microservice architecture and design patterns.
- Competence in UI development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and HTTP protocols.
