Summary: The IT Test Manager role is a 6-month contract based in London, focusing on leading the QA function for a financial services client. Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, implement, and govern the test strategy for financial, reporting, and core operational systems.
  • Manage the testing lifecycle across Unit, System Integration (SIT), User Acceptance (UAT), and Regression testing.
  • Work closely with third-party software vendors and internal business units to coordinate UAT cycles and manage defect triage.
  • Ensure all testing processes align with strict financial services regulations, data security standards, and operational risk frameworks.
  • Assess current testing practices and champion the introduction of automation where it adds clear commercial value.

Key Skills:

  • Proven track record acting as a Test Manager within a UK financial services, wealth management, or insurance (Lloyd's market preferred) environment.
  • Deep experience managing testing for complex data migrations, ERP/CRM upgrades, or bespoke financial reporting software.
  • Strong command of both Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
  • Expert knowledge of standard test management tools (eg, Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills-able to challenge technical developers and comfortably report to executive business leaders.

About the Client:

Our client is a leading, highly respected financial services and insurance specialist group based in the City of London. They operate within a sophisticated, data-driven environment, managing specialist investment and bespoke software platforms. They are currently undergoing a series of business-critical system upgrades and require a hands-on Contract Test Manager to lead the QA function.

The Role:

As the IT Test Manager, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end testing lifecycle across multiple concurrent projects. You will bridge the gap between technical teams, business analysts, and senior stakeholders, ensuring that all software deliveries, data migrations, and platform integrations are robust, secure, and compliant.
