Summary: The IT Systems Engineer role involves hands-on engineering work focused on physical infrastructure rollouts and upgrades in live operational and manufacturing environments. The role is contract-based for an initial duration of three months and requires onsite presence in Leeds. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical IT rollouts including Servers, Switches, Routers, and onsite infrastructure.
- Work in live manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environments.
- Install and replace infrastructure on site with a hands-on approach.
- Provide support across Windows, infrastructure, and end-user devices.
- Manage workload effectively and work independently.
- Occasional travel within West Yorkshire as required.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in delivering physical IT rollouts.
- Experience in live manufacturing or multi-site environments.
- Hands-on approach to infrastructure installation.
- Broad technical background in Windows and end-user support.
- Service desk/support engineering background beneficial.

I am currently recruiting for a IT Systems Engineer on a contract basis for an organisation who are highly respected in their industry. The role requires an experienced, hands-on engineer with a broad technical background who can hit the ground running in live operational and manufacturing environments. The work is focused on physical infrastructure rollouts and upgrades across multiple sites, including Servers, networking equipment and end-user devices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience delivering physical IT rollouts (Servers, Switches, Routers, onsite infrastructure)
- Experience working in live manufacturing, industrial or multi-site environments highly desirable
- Hands-on, "sleeves rolled up" approach to installing and replacing infrastructure on site
- Broad technical background across Windows, infrastructure and end-user support
- Service desk/support engineering background beneficial but must have progressed into onsite infrastructure work
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Driving licence and access to transport
