Summary: The IT Support Technician role is based in Bristol with travel to Worcester and other sites, focusing on providing hands-on technical support in a specialist customer environment. The position requires a motivated individual to support Windows 11 environments, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and maintain core server infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site IT support across customer sites (4–5 days per week)
  • Travel to additional locations to support projects and provide team cover
  • Support Windows 11 environments, including troubleshooting and log analysis
  • Deliver software and basic hardware support (break/fix, fault resolution)
  • Support core server infrastructure, including: Active Directory (user management – joiners, leavers, movers), DHCP, DNS, and VAMT
  • Perform data management tasks (including tape library archiving)
  • Carry out BAU operational activities: Antivirus and network monitoring, Storage and capacity management, Hardware health checks
  • Assist with office moves, hardware installations, and basic server maintenance
  • Maintain accurate records and update ticketing systems
  • Follow SOPs and contribute to technical documentation

Key Skills:

  • Basic to intermediate IT knowledge with a strong willingness to learn
  • Experience in IT support, service desk, or field engineering (desirable)
  • Understanding of: Windows OS and Windows Server, Networking fundamentals
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and break/fix

Salary (Rate): £32,000.00 yearly
