Summary: The IT Support Technician role is based in Bristol with travel to Worcester and other sites, focusing on providing hands-on technical support in a specialist customer environment. The position requires a motivated individual to support Windows 11 environments, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and maintain core server infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site IT support across customer sites (4–5 days per week)
- Travel to additional locations to support projects and provide team cover
- Support Windows 11 environments, including troubleshooting and log analysis
- Deliver software and basic hardware support (break/fix, fault resolution)
- Support core server infrastructure, including: Active Directory (user management – joiners, leavers, movers), DHCP, DNS, and VAMT
- Perform data management tasks (including tape library archiving)
- Carry out BAU operational activities: Antivirus and network monitoring, Storage and capacity management, Hardware health checks
- Assist with office moves, hardware installations, and basic server maintenance
- Maintain accurate records and update ticketing systems
- Follow SOPs and contribute to technical documentation
Key Skills:
- Basic to intermediate IT knowledge with a strong willingness to learn
- Experience in IT support, service desk, or field engineering (desirable)
- Understanding of: Windows OS and Windows Server, Networking fundamentals
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and break/fix
