Summary: The role of IT Support Engineer involves providing first and second line support within an IT Service Desk environment, specifically for a client based near Salisbury, Wiltshire. The position requires SC Security Clearance and entails managing IT incidents and service requests efficiently. Candidates must have a good knowledge of ITIL v3 or v4 and experience with Windows 10 and 11. The role initially requires on-site work before transitioning to a hybrid model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain IT services while providing assistance to users via the IT Service Desk.
  • Handle and manage incoming calls to the IT Service Desk and log incidents within the Service Management tool.
  • Ensure all IT incidents and service requests are resolved efficiently and recorded appropriately.
  • Work in an SC Security Cleared environment, requiring current SC/DV Clearance or eligibility to obtain it.

Key Skills:

  • Good knowledge and experience with ITIL v3 or v4.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Windows 10 and 11.
  • Knowledge of antivirus software and desktop installation.
  • Experience supporting desktop PCs, including hardware.
  • Understanding of software licensing, particularly Microsoft Volume Licensing (desirable).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines.
