Summary: The IT Security Architect role is a contract position based in Glasgow, focusing on supporting current Cyber projects and shaping future strategies within a public sector organization. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Architecture and will be expected to have a strong background in IT security, particularly within the public sector. This position requires both tactical project support and strategic planning capabilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Support current Cyber projects and initiatives while contributing to future strategy and planning.
- Work tactically on multiple projects in a hands-on capacity.
- Provide strategic insights and support for long-term decisions and plans.
- Utilize Microsoft Security tooling and knowledge of cloud technologies.
- Manage stakeholder communications effectively.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as an IT Security Architect in Scottish Public Sector organizations or similar.
- Strong foundations in IT Security with knowledge of industry-leading Security/Cyber Certifications (CISSP, SSCP, CompTIA Security+, etc.).
- Experience with Microsoft Security tooling (Purview, Defender, Sentinel, etc.) and cloud technologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Our Glasgow-based Public Sector Client seeks an experienced IT Security Architect to join their team in Glasgow. Working as part of a larger team & now reporting to the Head of Architecture, the successful candidate will take on an interesting, blended role, supporting some current Cyber projects & initiatives but also helping to look at future strategy, plans & ideas.
An initial Contract through until the end of March 2026, our Client is seeking candidate who are available now/at short notice and ideally locally based (with the ability to work in Glasgow each week). To be successful, backgrounds & skill-sets should include:
- Previous & proven experience working as an IT Security Architect within other Scottish Public Sector organisations (or similar)
- Solid foundations in IT Security with broad knowledge & experience across industry leading Security/Cyber Certifications (CISSP, SSCP, CompTIA Security+ etc), Frameworks, Tooling & Ways of Working etc
- The ability to work tactically, supporting several projects in a hands on capacity, but also look at the bigger picture, supporting longer-term strategic decisions & plans
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Security tooling (Purview, Defender, Sentinel etc) and broad knowledge of The Cloud
- As always, strong communication & Stakeholder Management skills will be essential
