Summary: Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organization in West Lothian, is seeking an IT Project Manager for an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. The role involves managing various IT projects, collaborating with third-party suppliers, and working alongside other project managers to ensure successful project delivery. The position requires a strong background in project management, particularly with PRINCE2 methodology, and a focus on both technical and business aspects of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a number of IT projects within the IT project portfolio, varying in size and complexity.
  • Work closely with third-party suppliers from a technical and project management perspective.
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers within IT Services to deliver assigned projects.
  • Utilize full-time and/or part-time project resources, including IT and business resources.

Key Skills:

  • Educated to degree level in an IT discipline or equivalent experience.
  • PRINCE2 foundation certificate or above.
  • Significant experience (> 8 years) as a Project Manager delivering complex projects.
  • Experience in managing projects based on PRINCE II methodology.
  • Ability to engage with a range of stakeholder groups and elicit relevant information.
  • Experience in delivering IT projects across various technology platforms.
  • Matrix resource management experience.
  • Experience in developing strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong customer focus and negotiation skills.
  • Comprehensive analytical skills to comprehend complex reports.
  • Knowledge and application of ITIL.

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in West Lothian, is currently looking to recruit an IT Project Manager for an initial 3 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £400-£425/day (Outside IR35). This role will be based in onsite in West Lothian.

Responsibilities:

  • To work on a number of IT projects within the IT project portfolio. Projects can be varied in size and complexity. Some projects assigned may be of a technical IT nature and some can be more business focused.
  • May be required to work closely with the 3rd party suppliers from a technical and project management perspective to ensure the successful management and delivery of projects.
  • Projects may have access to full time and/or part time project resources including IT and business resources.
  • Will work alongside other Project Managers within IT Services to deliver their assigned projects in conjunction with the wider portfolio of IT projects.

Essential Skills:

  • Educated to degree level in an IT discipline or equivalent experience
  • PRINCE2 foundation certificate or above
  • Experience in the application and management of projects based on PRINCE II methodology
  • Significant experience (> 8 years) as a Project Manager delivering complex projects
  • Experience, as a Project Manager, in taking on projects midway through to successful delivery
  • Experienced facilitator with demonstrable ability to engage with a range of stakeholder groups and elicit relevant information to feed in to, and ensure, successful project delivery
  • Experience in delivering IT projects across a broad range of technology platforms
  • Experience in matrix resource management
  • Experience in developing strategies, policies and procedures
  • Experience in producing written reports and conducting presentations of a technical project nature
  • Experience in contributing to team activities and tasks
  • Supplier management and ICT procurement experience ideally in a public sector environment
