Summary: The role of Assistant Coach involves partnering with senior coaches to facilitate organizational transformation by supporting client teams in adopting agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices. This hands-on position requires a blend of coaching, facilitation, and project delivery to enable sustainable change within organizations. The Assistant Coach will work closely with clients to implement new practices and enhance their capabilities. The position is focused on fostering a culture of learning and adaptation in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior coaches to design and facilitate workshops, retrospectives, ideation sessions, and learning events.
  • Help client COE members implement new practices within the flow of work by first demonstrating change, then coaching alongside them, and finally shadowing the client providing feedback and guidance.
  • Support Centers of Excellence (COE) and project managers as they adopt and sustain changes.
  • Develop playbooks, role and responsibility documents, and change adoption plans.
  • Apply agile, scrum, lean, and design thinking practices to real client work.
  • Support backlog refinement, value stream mapping, and dependency mapping.
  • Work with clients to align teams around objectives and measures of success.
  • Contribute expertise in both agile and traditional project management methods.
  • Assist with software development lifecycle processes, particularly in regulated environments such as pharmaceuticals.
  • Help design and deliver training, learning journeys, and capability-building activities.
  • Promote reflection, capture lessons learned, and reuse patterns across teams.

Key Skills:

  • Familiarity with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and lean practices.
  • Experience facilitating design thinking sessions.
  • Knowledge of traditional project management (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2 exposure).
  • Ability to create roles & responsibilities documentation and process guides.
  • Experience in dependency mapping, value stream mapping, and backlog refinement.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in regulated environments (e.g., pharma).
  • Proficiency with project management tooling and basic reporting.
  • Exposure to OKRs and outcome-based planning.
  • Experience with change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci ADKAR, Kotter's 8 Steps).
