Summary: The IT Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of the IT department within a leading education institution in London. This role involves managing the IT team, prioritizing support requests, and ensuring effective service delivery. The position is hybrid and requires strong leadership and technical skills in IT management. The contract is for an initial duration of three months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, mentor, and support the existing IT team
  • Manage the IT helpdesk queue and workload, ensuring timely and effective resolution of support requests
  • Prioritise incoming IT issues and projects based on urgency and impact, in consultation with senior stakeholders
  • Oversee the operational maintenance and monitoring of the IT infrastructure, including servers and network
  • Manage relationships with key IT vendors and external support providers as necessary for operational issues

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience in an IT management or leadership role, preferably within an educational or similarly complex environment
  • Demonstrable experience managing and leading an IT support or operations team
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server environments, Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Group Policy, O365/Microsoft 365), networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi), and end-user device support (Windows and potentially macOS/iOS)
  • Experience with IT service management principles (e.g., ITIL) and helpdesk ticketing systems
  • Experience managing virtualised environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

Salary (Rate): £500.00
