IT Network Engineer (CCIE/ E-trading) - London / Hybrid working - Up to £668 per day (inside IR35)

Summary: The IT Network Engineer role at Hawksworth involves working with a global Investment Banking client in London, focusing on enhancing latency electronic trading networking. The position requires a proven track record in maintaining stable network environments and excellent communication skills to collaborate with developers and application support teams. The role is part of a small, agile team responsible for optimizing network functionality, performance, and security. The contract is initially for 6 months and classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and maintain stable network environments for electronic trading.
• Collaborate with developers and application support to understand application interactions with infrastructure.
• Optimize functionality, performance, and security of London and Trading networks.
• Implement designs into production environments under Change Control.
• Capture business requirements and work with technical teams to identify balanced solutions.
• Conduct low-level log and packet analysis.

Key Skills:

• CCIE qualification preferred or equivalent expertise.
• Experience in highly available latency-sensitive network environments.
• Knowledge of Arista architectures and operating systems.
• Proficient in core routing protocols, OSPF and BGP.
• Experience with market brokers and direct market connectivity.
• Knowledge of scripting and network automation desirable.
• Hands-on design and configuration experience with switching and routing technologies.
• Experience with security technologies including firewalls and Web Gateways.
