We are seeking an Interim IT Manager to join a welcoming and inclusive Department with an exceptional international reputation in teaching and research. The department is large, encompassing around 40 research lab-based groups as well as delivering a significant amount of teaching. The Interim IT Manager will support the ongoing delivery and coordination of the Department's IT services. The role will focus on maintaining operational stability, supporting day-to-day IT activities, and ensuring continuity of service across a complex and busy academic environment. The post holder will be required to work on site and will interact effectively with a wide range of professional services staff, academics and students. Working closely with the Department's IT staff and senior management, the post holder will help coordinate IT operations, prioritise workloads, and provide oversight of key activities to ensure services continue to run effectively. The role will include supporting existing IT staff, as well as contributing to a collaborative management approach within the team. A key aspect of the role will be to progress compliance requirements in line with the Systems Management Policy, helping to reduce risk and ensure appropriate processes and controls are in place. The post holder will also contribute to resolving ongoing technical challenges, including those arising from recent network changes, and support effective incident management. We are seeking a versatile individual with excellent problem-solving skills, strong organisational capability, and a collaborative, hands-on approach.
