IT Infrastructure Engineer (SC Cleared)

Summary: The IT Infrastructure Engineer role focuses on delivering secure and high-performing hybrid cloud solutions within the Computing Division. The position requires collaboration with architects, engineers, and project teams to design and maintain IT infrastructure. Candidates must have experience in hybrid cloud environments, particularly with Microsoft Azure. The role is hybrid, requiring three days on-site work in Abingdon and two days remote.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and maintain IT infrastructure including Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory and networking.
• Develop hybrid solutions integrating on-premises systems with Microsoft Azure.
• Use infrastructure-as-code tools such as PowerShell and Terraform and automation tools such as Ansible.
• Monitor and optimise system performance, availability and resilience and manage backups and disaster recovery.
• Implement security controls and ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001 and CAF.
• Produce documentation, runbooks and training materials and provide guidance to junior team members.
• Work closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable and innovative IT services.

• Hands-on expertise with virtualisation, networking and Windows Server administration.
