Summary: The IT Category Lead role involves overseeing procurement activities related to IT categories such as software, hardware, and telecoms. The position requires negotiation and contracting for software renewals, managing tenders, and facilitating vendor onboarding while reporting to the head of procurement. The ideal candidate should possess significant IT experience to effectively manage multiple projects and maintain ongoing operations without seeking major changes. This contract position is hybrid, requiring one day per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting into the head of procurement
- Possibly managing 1 IT senior buyer
- Negotiation and contracting for software renewals
- Liaising with stakeholders and managing tenders
- Facilitating and coordinating onboarding of new vendors
- Progressing projects in-flow, including tenders and new products/solutions
- Conducting SRM meetings
- Managing categories including software, hardware, telecoms, and infrastructure
- Building relationships with stakeholders such as CIO, CISO, IT directors, and other divisional directors
- Maintaining ongoing operations and managing multiple projects simultaneously
Key Skills:
- Significant IT experience
- Strong negotiation and contracting skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and business as usual (BAU) tasks
- Experience in vendor onboarding and stakeholder management
- Familiarity with IT language and procurement processes
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships
- Ability to work independently and keep operations running smoothly
