Summary: The IT Business Analyst - Insurance role involves collaborating with business units to gather and document requirements, leading system implementation projects, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals. The position is based in London and requires expertise in IT or digital projects within the Commercial Insurance sector. The successful candidate will engage in various analytical tasks and support project management to deliver effective solutions. This contract role is set to last until the end of 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong partnerships with assigned business units to thoroughly understand both short- and long-term business strategies, delivering quality, strategic solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Analyse requirements and demands across the value chain, applying key analytical skills to clarify business problems and document IT system requirements for testing and delivery.
  • Document detailed requirements and specifications, ensuring agreement at all business levels. This includes:
  • Define non-functional requirements.
  • Lead Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall system implementation projects, supporting IT system deployment.
  • Assist the Project Manager in delivering projects on time and within budget, adhering to project methodologies such as One Essentials.
  • Analyse business demand for IT system support, automation, and digitalisation of business processes.
  • Translate business demands into system requirements at both architectural and detailed levels.
  • Identify appropriate solutions under the guidance of enterprise and solution architects and subject matter experts.
  • Drive a consistent, highly automated, resilient, and future-proof application and data landscape to enable cost-efficient digital business.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies, produce business cases, assess options, and present recommendations.
  • Support user participation in deployments and implementation activities.
  • Provide traceability for requirements and change requests, tracking delivery by the project team.
  • Assist with business testing preparation and execution to ensure solutions meet business expectations within approved project scope.
  • Ensure supporting IT systems, processes, and organisational changes can be deployed and supported effectively.
  • Help produce training materials for new systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with business owners to ensure effective benefit realisation.

Key Skills:

  • Experience delivering IT or digital projects within Commercial Insurance.
  • Experience with Core Insurance Platform implementations, including greenfield and migration projects. Knowledge of Guidewire is a plus.
  • Understanding of MGA and Lloyd's Market operating models, including their unique challenges and requirements.
  • Proactive with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of analysing complex business and technical problems and developing creative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships at all levels.
  • Skilled influencer, able to negotiate solutions, deadlines, and commitments effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing, coaching, and mentoring business analysts; able to motivate and guide teams on complex programs.
  • Proven ability to work across global businesses and diverse international cultures to deliver results.
  • Successful coordination of complex project deliverables based on customer needs.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to coordinate the efforts of others in project delivery.
  • Strong focus on internal customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and promoting efficiency changes.
  • Highly driven to stay informed on industry trends in Insurance and IT.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
