Summary: The IT Business Analyst - Finance Systems role involves supporting finance technology and ERP transformation initiatives by analyzing business processes and improving finance systems. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to gather requirements and facilitate system enhancements. The ideal candidate should have experience with ERP finance platforms and a strong understanding of finance principles. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in the West Midlands with hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements
- Support finance systems projects including ERP implementations, upgrades, migrations, and optimisation initiatives
- Analyse existing finance processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation
- Translate business needs into functional requirements and process documentation
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and user engagement sessions
- Support testing activities including UAT planning, execution, and issue resolution
- Assist with change management and user adoption activities
- Ensure solutions align with business objectives and finance operational requirements
Key Skills:
- 3-5 years' experience as a Business Analyst within finance systems or ERP environments
- Experience working with finance ERP platforms including:
- Agresso
- Oracle Financials
- SAP Finance
- IFS
- Bespoke finance ERP systems
- Understanding of core finance principles including:
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- General Ledger (GL)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong analytical, documentation, and process mapping capabilities
- Experience supporting large-scale business and systems change initiatives
- Understanding of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies
