IT Asset Management Lead - Inside IR35

Contract Term: 3 Months

Contracting Authority: HM Land Registry

Location: Hybrid Plymouth

Our IT Service Management practice operates in a highly regulated environment. We hold ISO 20,000 and Customer Service Excellence (CSE) accreditation and operate within a strongly managed ITIL v4 framework. We have identified IT Asset Management (ITAM) as an area for improvement and transformation through automation following a recent migration to a new ITSM Toolset (4Me)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Asset Management (ITAM) expert to join our dynamic team and share experience of best practice in this field. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IT asset management principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to provide strategic insights.

The postholder will be responsible for optimizing the use of technology assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, and implementing best practices for asset lifecycle management. A specialist with in-depth understanding of our current ITAM management software, SNOW, is essential. ITIL v3 or v4 Foundations certification and experience of integration is desirable.

As a IT Asset Management Lead your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Asset Management Strategy: Advise on development and implementation of IT asset management strategies to optimize the usage, deployment, and retirement of IT assets.
  • Policy Development: Advise on development of IT asset management policies and procedures, with a focus on integration and automation with existing technology platforms.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and contracts.
  • Compliance and Risk : Ensure compliance with all software licensing agreements, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement to disposal, ensuring maximum value and cost-efficiency.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for process improvement and automation.
  • Reporting: Generate detailed reports on asset status, compliance, and performance metrics for stakeholders.
  • Audit and Review: Conduct regular audits of IT assets and implement corrective actions as necessary.

 

You ll have relevant experience in:

  • SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
  • Experience with SNOW is essential.
  • Strong track record of IT Asset Management achievement in various businesses.
  • Experience of advising organisations on best practice, team sizing and formation.
  • Strong communicator, able to work with numerous stakeholders to influence and advise of change of policy.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide strategic insights.
  • Optimizing the use of technology assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, and implementing best practices for asset lifecycle management.
  • A specialist with in-depth understanding of our current ITAM management software.
  • Deep understanding of IT asset management principles.
  • Knowledge of Public Sector procurement and policy is desirable but not essential.
  • ITIL v3 or v4 Foundations certification and experience of integration is desirable.
