Summary: The IP Test Engineer role at Flint Technology Services involves specialized expertise in IP testing, MPLS networks, and Juniper equipment. The position is crucial for ensuring network testing, problem-solving, and compliance with the Telecom Security Act. Responsibilities include regression testing, testbed upgrades, and technical risk assessments while collaborating with various stakeholders. The role is office-based in Slough with potential travel across the UK and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate internal and external vendor teams, including leading cross-functional projects where necessary.
- Execute regression testing and upgrades for MPLS HL3 equipment in a Testbed environment.
- Follow Test Strategies, develop Test Plans and Test Criteria, and ensure all risks are identified and mitigated.
- Troubleshoot complex IP network issues, liaise with vendors to resolve problems, and communicate progress clearly to project teams.
- Manage faults according to the client Fault Management Process and report performance against departmental KPIs.
- Prioritize and manage multiple test activities, adjusting to changing requirements as needed.
- Document testing services to a high standard using Java tools where applicable.
- Ensure non-compliant TSA measures do not progress into live networks.

- Experience using Spirent Test Centre, IXIA, Wireshark, or similar IP packet generation and tracing tools.
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Ethernet Switches, IP protocols, MPLS/VPN, and IP security technologies.
- Ability to analyze technical documentation and develop clear test strategies.
- Cisco CCNP accreditation (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of GSM, GPRS, UMTS, and LTE principles.
- Hands-on experience with LAN, WAN, MAN, and SAN networks.
